Overview We are looking for an amazing dental assistant to join our wonderful team as soon as possible, in our state of the art pediatric dental office. Our ideal candidate is one who is dedicated, detail-oriented, kind, friendly, reliable, is great in dealing with children, and has excellent people skills.We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in clinical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. Experience as a dental assistant for 2-3 years is a must and some orthodontic experience is a plus. Resilience and the ability to work as a great team player complete the skill set. At this moment in time, we need a part-time assistant but the opportunity for a full-time position is a real possibility. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision, professionalism, and compassion are valued. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Manage electronic records using Softdent ensuring accurate documentation of patient information, medical history, and treatment plans, supporting comprehensive detnal care, Support administrative tasks including dental reception duties, scheduling appointments, and maintaining organized dental records in compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning. Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment procedures, and post-operative care to foster informed decision-making. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a general dentistry or specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics. Proficiency with Softdent for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards. Familiarity with dental coding and documentation practices relevant to dental procedures. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles if applicable, along with experience supporting pediatric patients. Excellent communication skills combined with a professional demeanor to support both team collaboration and patient interactions.
