Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their oral health is maintained through effective hygiene practices. This position requires a strong understanding of general and pediatric dentistry, as well as familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for patient assessments, documentation review, and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate oral health and hygiene needs. Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth, while utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Document patient treatment plans and maintain accurate records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Review medical histories and provide education on oral hygiene practices to patients of all ages. Assist in the management of dental clinic operations, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations. Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care, including referrals for specialized treatments when necessary. Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities. Skills Proficient in using dental clinic software systems, particularly Eaglesoft. Strong knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures. Excellent understanding of documentation review processes and patient assessment techniques. Familiarity with general dentistry practices as well as pediatric dentistry principles. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while providing exceptional patient care. Strong communication skills to educate patients about their oral health needs and treatment options.
