Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and documentation review processes. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus for working with young patients.
