Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team! Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and perform insurance verification using systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft. Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing medical scheduling software; manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette. Prepare treatment rooms, assist the dentist during procedures, and ensure all dental terminology and clinical protocols are followed accurately. Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle billing tasks including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and medical billing procedures. Maintain precise electronic health records (EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth), review documentation for accuracy, and ensure HIPAA compliance. Manage front desk responsibilities including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing medical records with attention to detail. Support clinic operations by reviewing care plans, updating medical documentation, and coordinating with healthcare providers for comprehensive patient care. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or Medical Receptionist within a dental or healthcare setting. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and medical billing processes. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with office management software is highly preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally; bilingual abilities are a plus. Prior clinic experience involving intake procedures, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and documentation review is highly desirable.
