Job Title: General Dentist Location: Orlando VA Healthcare System (Orlando, FL) â Multiple Clinic Locations Employment Type: Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Schedule: Rotating shifts between 6:30 AM â 8:00 PM , including potential weekends and holidays. Work Locations Orlando VA Medical Center â Orlando, FL Lake Baldwin VA Clinic â Orlando, FL Viera VA Clinic â Viera, FL Daytona Beach VA Clinic â Daytona Beach, FL Travel between clinics may be required to provide coverage. Position Summary The General Dentist provides comprehensive dental care to eligible veterans at VA outpatient dental clinics. The provider performs examinations, diagnoses, preventative and therapeutic dental treatments, and collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive dental exams and consultations Diagnose and treat diseases and conditions of the oral cavity and maxillofacial structures Perform restorative dental procedures including treatment of caries and defective restorations Provide prosthetic replacement of missing dentition (fixed and removable) Perform implant restoration and implant-retained dentures Perform non-surgical endodontic therapy Perform simple and surgical tooth extractions Provide emergency dental treatment Perform gingivectomy and gingivoplasty procedures Treat temporomandibular disorders (TMD) non-surgically Conduct minor oral surgery procedures and biopsies Provide oral pathology and oral medicine services Provide sedation/anxiolysis (oral single agent) when appropriate Dentists must follow all VA clinical guidelines and documentation standards. Required Qualifications Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) Current active dental license in any U.S. state or territory Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Ability to meet VA credentialing and privileging requirements Experience providing comprehensive dental care Preferred Qualifications Experience in government or VA healthcare settings Experience with implants, oral surgery, or prosthodontics Experience working in multidisciplinary healthcare teams h1DBzH6Q2W
