Position to Assist at an Orthodontic Office - Glenridge Orthodontics - Garden City, NY

We are a friendly and busy Orthodontic practice looking for another team player with a happy disposition. We are looking for energetic people who look forward to helping people and have a great memory. The commitment required for this position is at least one year because we invest our time in you for training. (VERY IMPORTANT)- There would be 100 hours of unpaid training before this becomes a paid position. You will have to have also completed self study of our clinical procedure manuals and videos before it would be paid. ( ALSO VERY IMPORTANT)-If you are looking for a position during school breaks, or during summer months, then this would entirely be an unpaid volunteer position since thorough training does take a lot of effort from us. Also, if you're someone who is working part-time as a paid position with us throughout the year to navigate your school/work schedule, you would have to maintain the same schedule throughout the summer months without adding or excluding any days. For example: if you've been working 2 days a week throughout the year up until summer, when summer comes around you must maintain that 2 day work schedule and also cannot add more days because you have an increase in open availability. We do this to maintain a consistent working team throughout the entire year. Time off requests are usually approved and do require 14 days notice when you are in a paid position. Volunteer position is more flexible, but still appreciate advance notice of schedule changes. This is a hands on position-not a shadowing opportunity, as we believe you learn better by doing things rather than just watching. Experienced dental assistants will train you along with the doctor at times once you have done your self study section. Senior High School and College students are welcome if you are looking to be a part of the Pre-Dental/Hygienist/Nursing/ Physician Assistant/ Medical field. Our past and current team members have moved on to graduate school in their desired medical field that wasn't only dentistry. If you don't know about orthodontics, and you are eager to learn, we will guide you to learn more. You must be excellent at working with people and have steady, careful hands, as you will be helping take intra-oral scans and photographs. At first you'd help a knowledgeable assistant with completing daily tasks; but once the initial training is complete, then you would assist the Doctor. Applicants must have mostly A's in science and math classes. We are looking for applicants who at least have a 3.5 GPA, and are able to maintain that grade in school alongside work.
