Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Surgical Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team! As a Surgical Dental Assistant, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary surgical instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Assist dentists during complex surgical procedures such as extractions, implant placements, and other oral surgeries by providing chairside support. Apply infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the dental clinic environment. Educate patients on post-operative care instructions and answer questions related to surgical procedures or dental terminology. Support other team members including dental receptionists by managing patient flow and scheduling appointments efficiently. Utilize advanced technology such as 3D scanners for precise diagnostics and treatment planning in prosthodontics or endodontics cases. Adhere to all safety standards related to medical documentation, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance while handling sensitive patient information. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant with a focus on surgical procedures in a busy dental clinic setting. Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization processes. Experience with Dentrix Dental Software. Strong understanding of dental terminology relevant to dentistry and oral surgery. Prior exposure to specialties such as prosthodontics or implants will be considered a plus.
