Job Description: As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will be a vital part of our team, responsible for providing excellent support to our orthodontists and ensuring our patients receive the highest level of care. You will assist in all clinical aspects of orthodontics and help create a welcoming and efficient environment for our patients. Key Responsibilities: Assist the orthodontist during procedures by preparing and handing over instruments, materials, and equipment. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays). Prepare patients for orthodontic treatment, including taking impressions and digital scans. Apply and adjust orthodontic appliances such as braces, aligners, and retainers. Provide patients with instructions on oral hygiene and appliance care. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records. Sterilize instruments and ensure the cleanliness of the treatment area. Manage patient flow and ensure timely scheduling of appointments. Educate patients on the process of orthodontic treatment and address any questions or concerns they may have. Make retainers and handle lab orders. Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the practice. Ideal Candidate Qualities: Experience: Experience is preferred but not required. We are happy to train someone with the right attitude! Certification: Current dental assistant and radiology certification is required. Skills: Proficiency in taking impressions, digital scans, and radiographs. Knowledge of orthodontic appliances and procedures. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex information in an understandable manner. Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, patient, and compassionate demeanor with a strong ability to build rapport with patients of all ages. Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with the orthodontist and other team members to provide the best possible patient care. Flexibility: Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
