We are seeking a Temporary Dental Assistant to join our practice. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, professional, and able to step in seamlessly to maintain our office’s workflow and high standards of patient care. In this role, you will assist our dentists chairside, manage sterilization, prepare patients for procedures, and handle necessary lab work. Our office opens on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays (a few times a month), Thursdays and Fridays between 9:30am and 4:00pm, and we need someone who can work in both Los Gatos and Mountain View locaions.

Key Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Support dentists during a variety of procedures.
- Patient Care: Welcome patients, prepare them for treatment, update medical histories, and ensure comfort throughout the appointment.
- Sterilization & Infection Control: Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Radiography: Take and process high-quality digital X-rays (Panorex/PA).
- Inventory & Setup: Stock treatment rooms, prepare trays, and monitor inventory.
- Patient Education: Provide post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a dental assistant in a general or specialty practice.
- Certification: Dental Radiology License/X-ray certification is required.
- Education: Certificate from an accredited Dental Assisting Program (preferred).
- CPR: Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental) is highly preferred.
- Adaptability: Ability to learn new protocols quickly and work with various dentists.
