We are proud to serve our patients in our beautiful, state-of-the-art dental office and we are looking for the right Dental Assistant to join our Team! The position does not require previous employment within a dental practice or clinic, however, a certificate from a dental assisting program and a proof of completed or to-be-completed radiology certification for the state of Connecticut is required. Some responsibilities for the Dental Assistant opportunity include: Providing excellent chair-side clinical support and assisting to Doctor(s) and Hygienist(s) which includes but not limited to: assisting doctor in procedures including restorative procedures, oral surgical procedures, endodontic procedures, implant procedures, and orthodontic procedures. Performing examination charting, operatory setup clean up, and patient education. Managing daily patient flow by responding to changes in appointment or schedule; prioritizes next operatory room set-up. Recording and reviewing patient health history, making chart entries under the direction of the doctor and assuring completion of forms and signatures in dental software. Reviewing daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments. Preparing patient, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, maintaining asepsis during instrument cleaning and sterilization and room disinfection, preparing materials, and assisting dentist during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines. Exposing dental diagnostic radiographs. Ordering and monitoring dental supplies and equipment inventory. Receiving, unpacking and organizing dental supply orders and dental laboratory cases. Organizing and assembling routine and specialty surgical instrument trays and other sterilized supplies, filling special requests as needed. Operating and maintaining steam autoclaves, keeping records of loads completed and maintenance procedures performed. Recording sterilizer test results. Following OSHA regulations and safety requirements to include compliance with HIPAA guidelines, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations. This is a Full-Time Position with Wednesdays off and we are open only 1 Saturday per month. We don't work Saturdays in the Summer months of July and August.
