Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our practice. As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining high standards of infection control, and delivering comprehensive dental services across various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Your expertise in dental procedures, medical documentation, and patient communication will contribute significantly to our commitment to excellence and patient satisfaction. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed meticulously. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and safety. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical and dental histories, treatment plans, and progress notes. Monitor vital signs and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient assessments. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures tailored for pediatric patients when applicable. Maintain infection control protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA standards to uphold a safe clinical environment. Support administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and other imaging devices to facilitate precise diagnoses and treatment planning. Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless workflow during procedures involving prosthodontics, endodontics, or other specialized treatments. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice. Hands-on experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred; familiarity with Epic or similar platforms is advantageous. Competence in taking X-rays (including digital imaging), medical documentation, and medical coding for billing processes. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry cases is desirable; understanding of pediatric-specific protocols is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure required; additional certifications in radiography or pediatric dentistry are beneficial.
