Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment planning Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols Review and update medical records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards Manage patient flow by chairside assisting with procedures, ensuring aseptic technique, and maintaining a sterile environment Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix for charting and documentation Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly preferred, with knowledge of pediatric-specific care approaches Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical coding Ability to perform patient care tasks effectively while demonstrating excellent communication skills Prior experience in Pediatric dentistry or dental clinic environments is advantageous Must be dependable and on time.
