Overview We are a private group practice that has been a part of the Burien community for over 50 years. We have an amazing team in place and looking to add another great member to our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and a comprehensive understanding of dental hygiene practices. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality preventive dental services, educate patients on oral health, and contribute to a welcoming and professional dental environment. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for patients. Assess patient oral health status through visual examination and medical history review, documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems). Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Take vital signs and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient assessment and treatment planning. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Review medical records for accuracy, update documentation regularly, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy. Maintain aseptic technique and infection control protocols rigorously to uphold safety standards within the dental clinic environment. Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to deliver seamless general dentistry services, emphasizing patient care and comfort. Requirements Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification required by state regulations. Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with exposure to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding practices relevant to dental records management. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and patient record management. Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about oral health practices. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medical imaging techniques, and pediatrics is highly desirable. Ability to work independently on Saturdays while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
