Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics by handing instruments and managing materials efficiently. Take and develop dental X-rays. Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary, especially in pediatric or medically compromised cases, ensuring comfort and safety throughout treatment. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and maintain clear communication to foster trust and understanding. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist team and managing patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency. Uphold infection control standards by following HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and maintaining aseptic techniques during all procedures. Qualifications Bilingual - must be fluent in Spanish. Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures. Knowledge of infection control protocols, sterilization processes, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines. Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry as well as medical terminology for effective communication within the team. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with special needs patients is a plus; certification in pediatric dentistry is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
