Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dental clinic environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment. This position requires proficiency in various dental systems and an understanding of different specialties including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Duties Assist the dentist during surgical procedures by preparing instruments and materials. Maintain a clean and organized surgical area, adhering to infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis. Utilize Dentrix and Epic systems for patient management and documentation. Provide support in various specialties including pediatrics and medical coding as required. Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and address concerns. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any issues to the appropriate personnel. Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on best practices in surgical assistance. Experience Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic is preferred. Familiarity with Dentrix software is highly desirable. Knowledge of general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatrics, and medical coding will be considered an asset.
