Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced dental environment. Your expertise will support various dental procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthetic work using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to ensure accurate documentation of patient information, treatment plans, and medical history. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain infection control protocols in accordance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards. Support administrative tasks including greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures. Assist with the operation of advanced technology such as 3D scanners and other digital imaging tools. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations related to medical coding, HIPAA privacy rules, and infection prevention. Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure. Proven experience in dental assisting within a general or pediatric dentistry setting. Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient records efficiently. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including X-ray procedures, vital signs measurement, and aseptic technique. Familiarity with infection control standards and sterilization processes to ensure patient safety. Experience working with digital imaging tools such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics; compassionate demeanor is essential. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and data security. Additional certifications such as CPR or radiography license are preferred but not required.
