Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, to develop personalized treatment plans. Perform general dentistry procedures such as dental examinations, cleanings, fillings, crowns, and prosthodontics. Carry out advanced treatments including root canal therapy (endodontics), dental extractions, oral surgery, and dental fabrication. Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses and treatment options clearly to patients. Maintain precise medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Operate dental imaging equipment and interpret results to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during all procedures. Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and related fields through ongoing education. Ensure all medical records are complete, accurate, and securely stored in accordance with legal standards. Skills Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar systems. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care for pediatric patients is highly preferred. Skilled in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), prosthodontics, and other restorative procedures. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately and thoroughly. Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice environments. Ability to communicate complex treatment plans clearly to patients of diverse backgrounds. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding protected health information (PHI) and medical records management.
