Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental examinations to inform treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to safeguard patient health. Support pediatric dentistry services by creating a friendly atmosphere for young patients and managing their specific dental needs. Review documentation thoroughly for accuracy, ensuring all procedures are correctly coded with appropriate medical coding standards. Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team to provide comprehensive general dentistry services while adhering to dental terminology standards. Experience Prior experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office setting is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for efficient documentation and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology is required. Experience with pediatric dentistry techniques and working with children is a plus but not mandatory. Familiarity with medical imaging procedures, vital signs measurement, and patient assessment protocols is necessary. Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry methods will be advantageous.
