We are seeking a skilled, energetic, and child-centered Expanded Functions/Duties Dental Assistant to grow with our practice. Job Overview The EDDA/EFDA will provide exceptional clinical support, assist with pediatric restorative and preventive care, and help foster a fun, safe, and confidence-building experience for our patients. This role combines clinical excellence with emotional intelligence—meeting each child where they are and helping them feel brave, supported, and valued. Responsibilities Provide four-handed dentistry and support the doctor during restorative procedures Place and finish composite restorations, sealants, etc. within scope of EDDA/EFDA certification Perform coronal polishing Take diagnostic digital radiographs (Nomad, Dexis, Kavo) in accordance with safety protocols Prepare, organize, and sterilize instruments following strict infection control standards Assist in behavior guidance to help children feel comfortable and confident Maintain accurate and timely chart notes in Eaglesoft Support patient flow and operatory turnover to keep the day running smoothly Educate patients and parents on oral health, brushing techniques, and preventive care Contribute positively to team culture and participate in creating a welcoming office environment Skills & Qualifications Coronal Polishing Certification (preferred) Dental Radiography Certification (required) Basic Life Support (CPR) (preferred) Expanded Functions / Expanded Duties certification (preferred) Experience working with children or a desire to learn pediatric techniques Proficiency in digital radiography and dental software (Eaglesoft experience a plus) Strong understanding of infection control and OSHA/HIPAA standards Excellent communication, patience, and teamwork skills Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a calm, supportive demeanor with kids A growth-minded, compassionate, and dependable work ethic Why Join Bloom?
