Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting practices and demonstrate proficiency in various dental technologies and procedures. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic, and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment documentation, in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform basic laboratory tasks such as impressions and model pouring. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including medical documentation and coding. Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe clinical environment. Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional care in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. Experience with chairside assisting techniques and vital signs monitoring. Ability to operate 3D scanners and perform medical imaging tasks effectively. Strong understanding of medical records management and documentation standards. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, particularly children in pediatric settings. Aseptic technique knowledge is essential for maintaining patient safety during procedures.
