Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe and effective treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor and review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding of dental procedures for medical records and billing purposes. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state requirements. Proven experience in dental office settings, with familiarity in general dentistry practices. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and medical terminology. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with medical coding is a plus. Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks efficiently while maintaining a focus on patient care. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for working with children is a plus.
