Job Title: Expanded Duties Dental Assistant / Comprehensive Dental Assistant Location: Your Nashua Dentist - 6 Concord Street, Nashua, NH Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday â Thursday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Enjoy a 3-day weekend!) Dr. Yu is a highly skilled general dentist who performs a wide array of advanced, comprehensive procedures in-house, including dental implants, oral surgery, and root canals. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide advanced clinical support, enhance patient care, and assist with complex procedures across various disciplines, including general dentistry, oral surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. In this position, you will play a vital role in supporting the clinical team by performing expert chairside assisting, managing medical documentation, and ensuring strict adherence to infection control. Key Responsibilities Comprehensive Chairside Assisting: Assist Dr. Yu with precision and confidence using four-handed dentistry techniques during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, surgical (extractions/implants), prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments. Clinical Preparation & Sterilization: Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly following strict aseptic techniques and OSHA guidelines. Advanced Dental Imaging: Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs using digital imaging technology, including 3D scanners, intraoral cameras, and other medical imaging tools while maintaining patient safety standards. Patient Monitoring & Education: Perform vital signs assessments (blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature) to monitor patient health status prior to surgical procedures, and educate patients on postoperative care. Records Management: Efficiently manage patient records using EMR systems (Opendental/Curve/Dentrix/Eaglesoft), ensuring accuracy in the documentation of medical history, treatment plans, medical coding, and progress notes. Compliance: Maintain strict infection control standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations to ensure a safe environment and protect patient privacy at all times. Skills & Qualifications Experience: Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is required; experience with complex surgical, prosthodontic, or endodontic procedures is a major plus. Licensure: Active New Hampshire Dental Assistant licensure/registration (or eligible to obtain) and Radiology certification required. Software Proficiency: Competency in EMR systems (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar) for efficient record keeping and documentation management. Technical Competence: Familiarity with modern dental equipment such as 3D scanners, intraoral cameras, and curing lights. Strong knowledge of dental/medical terminology and anatomy. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with patients, team members, and external healthcare providers.
