Job description ProHEALTH Dental (Where Oral Health Meets Overall Health) is a leading dental group in the New York Metropolitan Area. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols, ensure all OSHA and Dental Board policies are being followed accurately. Take digital dental radiographs (Dexis). Educate patients on proper oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling). Proactively work towards achieving high patient satisfaction by offering friendly and professional patient service. Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions, providing reminders of time of next dental hygiene visit. removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth, counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments. Maintain rigorous soft tissue management protocol Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums; using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession; exposing and developing radiographic studies. Arrest dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity- preventing agents, administer local anesthetic agents. Perform patient screening procedures, such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, periodontal charting and taking blood pressure and pulse. Charting existing procedures. Make future continuing care appointments. Other duties as assigned.
