Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies to promote lifelong dental health. Utilize dental software systems like Dexis and Open Dental for accurate documentation review, treatment planning, and record keeping. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Support pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a friendly environment for young patients and understanding pediatric-specific dental terminology.
