Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols. Manage patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform routine tasks such as taking dental x-rays, applying fluoride treatments, and assisting with endodontic procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office using Dentrix or similar software. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory and waiting areas. Experience Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome candidates eager to learn. Familiarity with various dental specialties such as pediatrics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry is advantageous. Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques is a plus. Experience with electronic medical records systems like Epic is desirable. Understanding of infection control standards and practices in a dental setting.
