Under the indirect supervision of a dentist: Perform mouth mirror inspection of the oral cavity. Chart existing restorations and conditions as instructed by the dentist. Prepare patients for treatment/seating/positioning chair/placing napkin. Prep lab forms for signature by the dentist. Maintenance of dental equipment. Place and remove post-extraction dressings/monitor bleeding. Polish coronal portion of teeth with rotary hand piece and rubber prophy cup or brush. Transfer dental instruments. Apply fluoride varnish. Mix dental materials. Take x-ray film and expose radiographs. Preventive education and oral hygiene instruction. Give oral hygiene instructions. Sterilization and disinfection procedures. Provide pre-and-post-operative instructions. Make impressions. Select and fit bands for cementation by dentist. Compliance with OSHA regulations and Centers for Disease Control guidelines. Take oxygen saturations and pulse. Apply pit and fissure sealants. Assist pediatric dentist chairside. MAKE KIDS SMILE!
