Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team supporting a Prosthodontic. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, providing preventive care, and supporting overall patient well-being within a comprehensive dental practice. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and calculus, and applying fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment planning. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control standards and radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive measures, and post-treatment care to foster long-term dental health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure the sterilization of dental instruments and aseptic techniques are consistently followed to uphold infection control standards. Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including handling dental terminology accurately for effective communication. Manage EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems efficiently for documentation review and medical coding purposes. Uphold the highest standards of patient care by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail in all interactions. Experience Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification. Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with familiarity in pediatric-specific procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic technique. Experience utilizing EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Prior experience with medical imaging techniques and vital signs measurement is preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical records management, documentation review processes, and basic medical coding standards is advantageous.
