Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the smooth operation of our dental practice. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures such as restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed. Manage medical documentation and records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate patient histories and treatment notes. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and monitoring vital signs during procedures. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and preventive practices to promote oral health. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and maintaining organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and infection control standards. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation. Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable; knowledge of pediatrics is a plus. Certification or training in infection control practices and aseptic technique is required.
