Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dental Office Assistant to support both clinical and administrative functions in our practice. This part-time role is essential in maintaining efficient daily operations by assisting with instrument sterilization, operatory turnover, and front office tasks. Responsibilities include ensuring all clinical areas are properly cleaned, stocked, and prepared for patients, as well as supporting administrative workflows such as verifying dental insurance, assisting with daily tasks, and helping maintain patient records. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to balance multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This position is an hourly position scheduled for 15 hours per week, working Monday through Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Assist dentists during various procedures if needed. Take dental X-rays, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using Curve Hero Dental System, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA regulations. Verify medical history for new and returning patients, & integrating this information into medical records accurately. Communicate effectively with patients as a dental receptionist, providing clear instructions and answering inquiries professionally. Assist with infection control protocols, including sterilization procedures and maintaining a clean clinical environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as insurance verification, daily routers, and working through unscheduled & cancellation Lists. Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines safely and effectively. Familiarity with infection control standards, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. Excellent communication skills Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times. Experience working in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with strong organizational skills.
