Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures Prepare and turn over treatment rooms, ensuring proper sterilization, aseptic technique, and infection control Take and develop dental X-rays while following radiation safety standards, take intra-oral photos and scans Help create a calm, positive experience for children and families before, during, and after treatment Manage patient records using EMR systems with accurate and thorough documentation Review and obtain medical and dental histories to support comprehensive care Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, preventative care, and post-operative instructions Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment in accordance with OSHA and infection control guidelines Assist with patient flow, scheduling, and front office support as needed Qualifications Previous dental assisting experience preferred Pediatric dental experience strongly preferred (or a genuine interest in working with children) Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures Experience with dental software and electronic records Ability to safely operate X-ray equipment; radiography certification preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and team members Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and strong attention to detail Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, child-focused environment Dental assisting certification or formal training preferred Why Join Strong Smiles?
