Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures. Assist dentists during exams and treatments by providing chairside support with dental instruments, materials, and patient comfort. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology, including 3D scanners when applicable. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations. Conduct vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and preventive practices to promote oral health. Collaborate with the team on four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during complex procedures like prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry. Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and supporting the dental receptionist as needed. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, X-ray taking, and infection control practices. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Ability to perform vital signs measurement and operate medical imaging equipment confidently. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical records management. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; ongoing education in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics is advantageous.
