Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control standards are maintained. Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic to ensure accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical coding. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures; provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric and general dentistry needs. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical records. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for accurate communication and documentation. Hands-on experience with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; proficiency in Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Skilled in taking X-rays, including intraoral images and 3D scans; certification in radiography is required. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes to ensure patient safety. Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is highly desirable; familiarity with medical imaging and vital signs monitoring is beneficial. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment supporting general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric cases while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
