Responsibilities Assist dentists with a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared efficiently. Manage patient flow by greeting patients warmly, updating medical histories, taking vital signs, and explaining procedures clearly to foster trust and comfort. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering strictly to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate medical documentation by updating electronic health records (EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support dental team members with chairside assisting, including handling dental terminology and providing support during four-handed dentistry for efficiency. Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics. Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including taking X-rays, vital signs measurement, and chairside support is essential. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security must be demonstrated. Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry procedures, and infection control practices are required to ensure safe and effective patient care. Additional certifications in medical imaging or pediatric dentistry are advantageous but not mandatory; ongoing training will be provided for the right candidate.
