Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering exceptional patient care by providing chairside assistance, managing patient records, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met. Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history accurately to support comprehensive patient care. Provide excellent chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort during procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation including coding for insurance claims. Qualifications Valid state license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current certification. Proven experience working in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices safely and effectively. Knowledge of dental assisting procedures such as taking vital signs, chairside assisting across various specialties (prosthodontics, endodontics), and supporting pediatric patients. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures using dental and medical terminology clearly to patients of all ages.
