Boutique Dental Practice | Annapolis, MD Are you the kind of dental assistant who takes pride in being prepared? Do you naturally notice the details that help a clinical day run smoothly? Do you care about the patient experience — not just what happens during treatment, but how patients feel from the moment they walk in until the moment they leave? The Djawdan Center for Implant & Restorative Dentistry is looking for a warm, organized, proactive Dental Assistant to join our clinical team. We are a boutique, fee-for-service dental practice in Annapolis focused on implant, restorative, cosmetic, and sedation dentistry. We are not a high-volume, insurance-driven office. Our patients often come to us for complex, life-changing care, and we take that responsibility seriously. This position is ideal for someone who brings both skill and heart — someone who is clinically capable, organized, thoughtful, positive, and truly committed to the patient experience. What makes this role different? In our practice, dental assisting is not just about setting up rooms, passing instruments, or turning over operatories. Our dental assistants are an important part of creating a calm, prepared, professional, and supportive environment for patients and providers. You will be part of a team that supports implant surgery, restorative dentistry, cosmetic care, sedation appointments, diagnostics, records, follow-up visits, and complex treatment plans. The right person for this role will enjoy learning, preparing, anticipating, and being trusted with important details. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a high-standard team — not someone who is simply looking for “a job.” Our standard At The Djawdan Center, our standards start with leadership. Dr. Djawdan leads with preparation, precision, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility to each patient. He approaches every case with intention, and he expects the team around him to share that same commitment to preparedness, professionalism, and patient-centered care. This is not a casual clinical environment. Our patients trust us with important health decisions, emotional decisions, financial decisions, and often life-changing treatment. Because of that, every team member has a responsibility to show up prepared, focused, kind, accountable, and ready to support the patient and the team. We are looking for someone who is inspired by that standard — not intimidated by it. What you’ll do As a Dental Assistant, you will help support the doctor, patients, and clinical team throughout the day. Responsibilities include: Preparing operatories, instruments, supplies, equipment, and materials for scheduled procedures. Reviewing the schedule and understanding what is needed for each patient and procedure. Assisting chairside during restorative, implant, surgical, cosmetic, sedation, diagnostic, records, follow-up, and consultation-related appointments. Helping create a calm, reassuring, and professional patient experience. Anticipating the doctor’s needs during procedures. Maintaining clean, organized, stocked, and prepared treatment rooms. Following infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols. Taking radiographs, scans, impressions, photographs, or other records as trained and permitted. Supporting lab-related communication, temporary restorations, prototypes, or case preparation as applicable. Communicating clearly with the doctor, clinical team, administrative team, and lab technician. Helping identify missing information, materials, or case needs before they become last-minute problems. Supporting teammates with kindness, flexibility, and professionalism. Using slower moments to restock, organize, prepare for upcoming patients, support sterilization, review cases, improve systems, or learn new workflows. Who will thrive here? You may be a strong fit if you are: Organized and detail-oriented. Positive, dependable, and professional. Kind and reassuring with patients. A true team player. Proactive and able to think ahead. Calm under pressure. Comfortable asking questions and learning. Able to communicate directly without being harsh. Flexible when the schedule changes. Someone who takes ownership and follows through. Motivated by high-quality patient care. Interested in growing in implant, restorative, cosmetic, surgical, and sedation dentistry. This role is best for someone who wants to be part of a team with clear standards — where leadership is prepared, the clinical day matters, patients are treated with deep respect, and every team member is expected to contribute to a calm, organized, and professional experience. Experience we’d love to see Dental assisting experience is preferred. Experience with oral surgery, implants, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, or prosthodontic-style care is a plus. Expanded Functions experience is a plus. Experience making temporaries or supporting restorative procedures is helpful. Radiology certification required by Maryland regulations. Strong organization, communication, and chairside assisting skills are important. A willingness to learn is essential.
