Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, prosthodontics, and some pediatric treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Perform chairside assisting with aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards and ensure patient safety. Confirm medical history information to support comprehensive treatment planning. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical documentation or coding for insurance claims. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and anatomy knowledge to prevent cross-contamination. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices to promote overall health. Qualifications Proven or certified experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures is preferred but a passion for the career and a desired learning for the position is welcomed! Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry is recommended. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable. Eaglesoft is the system we use. Ability to operate dental X-ray machines safely while maintaining aseptic technique. Knowledge of infection control practices and sterilization processes aligned with OSHA standards. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry and pediatric dentistry is preferred. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is advantageous; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance is expected.
