This is a family owned , non-corporate practice since 1982. Father-Son practice. We are located on the Hanover/New Kent Border. Our Dentists do all the artwork and landscape on the grounds.
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our outgoing and laid back dental team! This is a Tuesday-Friday position, hours 8am-5pm.
In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing comprehensive dental cleanings, assessments, and education to promote optimal oral health. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical skills while contributing to the overall well-being of our diverse patient community.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental examinations to identify oral health issues.
- Take dental images, i.e. Dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records and treatment plans.
- Follow infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
- Proven experience in general dentistry with a strong background in dental terminology.
- Familiarity with dental office software, we use Dentrix.
- Knowledge of anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile environment.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records confidentiality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.
