Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Experienced Dental Assistant to join our Uptown Phoenix dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside support, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care across a variety of dental procedures. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available, adhering strictly to aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Take digital dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety measures. Operate digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and 2D photo equipment to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning, as well as sending digital records to our in house mill and labs. You will be trained to design and mill same day crowns. Manage patient records by accurately updating medical records, documenting procedures, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy standards using Dentrix and VixWin software Measure vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse to monitor patient health before procedures, documenting results in the patient record. A willingness to support the dental receptionist with administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and managing medical documentation when time allows Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while following infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental practice setting with knowledge of general dentistry, implant dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontics. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging procedures. Ability to treatment plan using Dentrix Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, aseptic technique, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience operating X-ray machines and 3D scanners for diagnostic, insurance and lab procedures. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with dentists, patients and team members.
