Temporary Full-Time Dental Hygienist (Maternity Leave Coverage) We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our team on a temporary full-time basis to cover a maternity leave beginning in early September. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established, locally owned dental practice that is committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality dental care. Our practice emphasizes preventive care, patient education, and long-term oral health. While this position is intended as a maternity leave coverage role, there is potential for the right candidate to remain with our practice in a part-time, full-time, or as-needed capacity following the conclusion of the leave. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental hygiene services, including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, periodontal assessments, and dental charting Review and update patient medical histories and perform patient assessments, including blood pressure readings Take and document necessary dental radiographs utilizing Sidexis Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment recommendations Apply preventive treatments, including fluoride and sealants, when indicated Maintain accurate and thorough clinical records and treatment documentation Follow all infection control and sterilization protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring comfort and addressing concerns throughout treatment Collaborate with doctors and team members to deliver outstanding patient experiences and clinical outcomes Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program Current New York State Dental Hygiene license Experience in a dental practice setting preferred Familiarity with digital radiography and electronic dental records Experience with Open Dental is a plus Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient-centered care A positive, professional attitude and ability to work effectively within a team What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience A supportive and collaborative team environment Modern technology and equipment Established patient base and consistent schedule Opportunity for continued employment beyond the maternity leave coverage period Apply Today If you are passionate about helping patients achieve optimal oral health and are looking for a rewarding opportunity with the potential for future growth, we would love to hear from you.
