Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and responsible Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging) and preparing patients for examinations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety. Collaborate with the dental team on treatment planning, documentation review, and medical coding to optimize patient care delivery. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and record management. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Strong patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly. Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry is a plus.
