Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Part-Time Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients and support the delivery of exceptional dental care. In this role, you will assist dentists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain the highest standards of infection control. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to a smooth-running office that prioritizes patient health and satisfaction. Please have an active NJ Radiograph License before applying. We are willing to train the right individual. We are a small, well established private practice that has been taking care of the Phillipsburg community for well over 60 years. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and organized according to aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing four-handed dentistry support. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging technology. Collect medical history information from patients to support comprehensive medical documentation and ensure safety during treatments. Manage patient records Educate patients on post-treatment care instructions, dental terminology, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness. Support front desk operations by assisting with dental receptionist duties such as appointment scheduling and insurance verification when needed. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control protocols, and aseptic technique. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy relevant to dentistry, and general dentistry procedures. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards for protecting patient information and medical records management. Excellent communication skills suitable for explaining procedures clearly to patients of all ages; compassionate approach especially when working with pediatric patients.
