About the Role This is a full-time chairside assistant position working alongside our two dentists. You will be an integral part of a four-person clinical assistant team led by our Lead Clinical Assistant, contributing to smooth daily operations, excellent patient care, and the overall momentum of the practice. ScheduleOur schedule is thoughtfully designed around exceptional patient care, team wellbeing, and balance. Most weeks are four days and approximately 33â35 clinical hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, we typically work one Friday per month, with the Monday of that week removed from the schedule. Team meetings, training, and continuing education are part of our ongoing commitment to professional growth and clinical excellence. Our calendar is planned well in advance whenever possible. At the same time, dentistry is a dynamic profession, and we value team members who can remain flexible and adapt as patient needs, schedules, and circumstances evolve. What Youâll Do Provide skilled chairside assistance across restorative, surgical, and cosmetic procedures using four-handed dentistry Seat and prepare patients, review and update medical history, and ensure every patient feels informed and at ease Enter treatment in real time, document clinical notes same day, and create and phase treatment plans per doctor direction Maintain infection control standards, sterilization protocols, and OSHA compliance Communicate clearly with patients about their treatmentâusing patient-friendly language that reinforces the doctorâs recommendations Prepare and turn over operatories, and support smooth daily clinical flow Participate in end-of-day procedures to ensure the team is ready for tomorrow Cross-train across team roles to support consistency and coverage Proactively contact patients regarding unscheduled treatment and appointment opportunities to support patient acceptance and maintain a productive schedule What Weâre Looking For NYS Dental Assistant certification (strongly preferred; we are open to an exceptional candidate who is actively pursuing certification) Proven chairside experience and confidence assisting with a wide range of clinical procedures A calm, professional presence that instills confidence in both patients and teammates Exceptional attention to detail in documentation, charting, treatment planning, and clinical setup Strong communication skills and the emotional intelligence to build trust with patients and collaborate effectively with team members A team-first mindset, personal accountability, and a willingness to step in wherever needed to support the practice Comfort learning and utilizing dental technology, software platforms, and clinical systems Experience with, or a genuine enthusiasm for, the digital side of dentistryâincluding intraoral scanning, digital radiography, clinical photography, CAD/CAM workflows, 3D printing, and cosmetically oriented care A growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving profession The confidence to speak up, ask questions, and seek understanding when something is unclear, paired with the professionalism and judgment to do so thoughtfully and respectfully Why Youâll Love Working with Us · An independently owned, privately held family practice-there are no corporate owners, no DSO involvement, and no plans to change that.
