Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards. Assist dentist chairside during various procedures Take digital dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Manage patient records using Dentrix Ascend, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and coding. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and relaxation. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer any questions related to dental terminology or procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the team using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during complex procedures. Maintain a clean and sterile environment by following infection control guidelines aligned with OSHA standards. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure Texas. Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry practice. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools safely and effectively. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and medical records management. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages.
