Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Fulshear, TX

Position Summary The Front Desk Receptionist / Cross-Trained Dental Assistant is responsible for providing excellent patient service at the front desk while also supporting clinical operations as a dental assistant when needed. This dual-role position ensures smooth patient flow, efficient scheduling, and high-quality care support in a fast-paced dental practice. Key ResponsibilitiesFront Desk Duties Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and manage patient communications Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays or payments Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic/insurance information Manage daily schedule to optimize provider productivity Handle basic billing support and insurance follow-ups as needed Ensure the reception area remains clean and organized Dental Assistant Duties (Cross-Trained) Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms Take and process dental radiographs (if certified/allowed by state law) Prepare materials such as impressions, trays, and restorative supplies Provide chairside support, including suctioning and patient comfort Review post-operative instructions with patients Follow infection control and OSHA safety protocols Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of a dental assisting program preferred or on-the-job training accepted Current dental assistant certification or radiology certification (if required by state) Prior front desk or customer service experience preferred Familiarity with dental practice management software is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment Skills & Competencies Professional and welcoming demeanor Strong attention to detail Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Comfort working in both administrative and clinical roles Problem-solving and adaptability Work Environment Fast-paced dental office setting Combination of seated front desk work and standing clinical assistance Exposure to standard dental clinical environment and materials Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods when assisting clinically Ability to lift or move small equipment or instrument trays as needed Manual dexterity for clinical assisting tasks Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour Work Location: In person
