Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and handing over tools efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, including updating medical history and documenting procedures Provide chairside assistance by monitoring vital signs, explaining treatment steps to patients, and ensuring their comfort throughout visits Maintain strict infection control practices by adhering to aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols to prevent cross-contamination Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes Assist with specialized treatments in areas like prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry when needed, utilizing your knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy Skills Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation Experience with dental imaging techniques such as X-ray procedures and 3D scanner technology Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a dental clinic environment Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport Familiarity with medical coding and documentation standards related to dental procedures Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members like dental receptionists and hygienists Embark on a rewarding career where your skills help transform smiles every day!
