Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while educating patients on oral hygiene practices. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current medications to ensure safe treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and sterilizing instruments according to industry standards. Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy before procedures. Educate patients about dental terminology, treatment options, and preventive care strategies tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Collaborate with the dental team on patient care plans, ensuring seamless communication across all aspects of general dentistry services. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient documentation review and record management. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA guidelines. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding for accurate recordkeeping and billing processes. Experience providing pediatric dentistry services is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for working with children is highly valued. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment confidently.
