Lead Dental Assistant – Biological & Wellness Dentistry Thurmont Smiles is a biological and wellness-focused dental practice in Thurmont, MD, and we're growing. We don't practice dentistry the way most offices do. Our approach is minimally invasive treatment, ozone therapy, SMART amalgam removal, biomimetic restorations that preserve healthy tooth structure, and care that treats the mouth as connected to the whole body. We're looking for a Lead Dental Assistant to help lead our clinical team as we expand. This isn't just a chairside role. You'll help set the tone for how our team prepares, communicates, and shows up for patients every day. **In this role, you will:** * Assist the doctor confidently across a wide range of procedures, including advanced and biological techniques * Help lead and support your fellow assistants, keeping the clinical team organized and aligned * Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials with real attention to detail * Follow established checklists and protocols consistently, every patient, every time * Uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety * Help patients understand their treatment and options in plain language, so they feel informed rather than rushed * Take digital radiographs and clinical photographs, and work with advanced technology like CEREC and 3D imaging * Keep clinical systems, supplies, and daily workflows running without gaps **We're looking for someone who:** * Has a minimum of 5 years of dental assisting experience (required) * Has lead or supervisory experience (a plus) * Follows checklists and protocol as second nature, not an afterthought * Takes initiative without being told twice * Communicates with warmth and confidence, with patients and teammates alike * Genuinely wants to keep learning new techniques and technology * Cares about helping patients get healthier, not just get through their appointment If you want to be part of a growing team doing dentistry differently, where your work is respected and your growth matters, we'd love to meet you.
