Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team on Mon, Tue, Wed & Fri's 8:30am-4:30pm. Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately using appropriate dental imaging techniques while adhering to safety protocols
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Open Dental
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health
• Follow infection prevention protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and managing healthcare infection control standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Skills

• Proficiency in dental software systems such as Open Dental for scheduling, documentation review, and dental coding
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures
• Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and working with pediatric patients in a compassionate manner
• Ability to assess vital signs accurately and recognize signs of medical emergencies or abnormalities during treatment
• Familiarity with medical imaging procedures including X-ray techniques for diagnostic purposes
• Excellent patient care skills with a focus on maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards in a clinical setting
• Ability to operate dental equipment safely and effectively while adhering to OSHA guidelines
