Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthodontists. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, chairside assisting, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Perform chairside assisting, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout their visit. Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to all safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilizing Cloud 9 software for patient management and scheduling. Conduct vital signs checks and assist with medical imaging when required. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within the clinic. Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care, including prosthodontics, endodontics, and orthodontic procedures. Operate 3D scanners for orthodontic imaging as necessary. Experience Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus; experience with general dentistry is also beneficial. Proficiency in using Cloud 9 dental software is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Experience with medical documentation, coding, and records management is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with children and families are essential for success in this role.
