Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing procedures to remove plaque, tartar, and stains. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe and effective treatment. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Manage electronic health records (Open Dental), ensuring accurate documentation of patient visits, treatment plans, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention practices. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office is preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR system Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while providing exceptional client care and education. Knowledge of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards.
